New Programs to Support Early Care and Education in Santa Cruz County

The Santa Cruz County Human Resources Agency is preparing for this year's cycle of the Developer Fees Loan Program. The program grants forgivable loans to maintain or expand slots in Centers and licensed Family Child Care Homes. It's a great program that has been very helpful in 'growing' child care facilities and programs in our county.

New draft Preschool Learning Foundations available to view on the web. Click here to be taken to the Department's website. The Child Development Division of the California Department of Education (CDE) invites you to preview and comment on the draft versions of the Preschool Learning Foundations. The purpose of the Preschool Learning Foundations is to provide the child development field with research-based competencies —knowledge and skills— that we can expect most children to exhibit to support healthy development and successful movement toward school readiness. Your comments and suggestions will help ensure that the Preschool Learning Foundations being proposed will fulfill this purpose.
